S01: INTRODUCTORY SEASON
THE CONCORDIA ETHNOGRAPHY LAB
Concordia University’s Ethnography Lab (Montreal, CA) is the concretization of a vision from several faculty members coming from a range of discipline who wanted to explore innovative ethnographic research as a site of interdisciplinary methodological thinking. Conceptualized as a cooperative workspace that enables small working groups to carry out projects that engages them with their community, the EthnoLab support students in taking time to participate in collaborative activities and projects that are not necessarily directly connected to their doctoral or master’s research projects, but that can enrich their way of thinking about their work while better connecting with their community and environment.
The first season of the podcast (6 episodes released during the winter 2017 term) served as an introduction to the researchers and their stories, as listeners learned about this world alongside host, Johnny Bee (John Bryans). Throughout, the podcast has featured a musical soundtrack created and performed by students.
